On Monday, December 10, 2018, Esther Soria Contreras, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother passed away at the age of 88. Esther was born February 15, 1930 in Brownsville, Texas to the late Reverend Jacinto and Manuela Soria.
Esther Contreras had two great loves in her life God and family. She was a devout Christian and member of Templo Sinai Baytown (CLADIC) for more than 50 years. She loved to cook, sing, and raise money for her beloved church. The other love of her life was her family to whom she gave the best years. She is preceded by her parents Jacinto and Manuela Soria, her son David Contreras Jr. and her daughter Julie Ann C. Ibarra.
She is survived by her husband, David Contreras Sr. of 66 years, her sisters Rebecca Sapien, Lydia Gamez and brother Jacinto Soria Jr. She also leaves behind her children Abraham and Naaman Contreras and grandchildren David Contreras III, Julie Ann Contreras, Kristina Contreras, Ezekiel Contreras, Christopher Contreras, Corey Contreras, Josh Contreras, Hazana Contreras, and Rockston Contreras. She will also be greatly missed by many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews. Serving as pallbearers are Ezequiel Contreras, Sr., Ezequiel Contreras Jr., Christopher Contreras, Cameron Contreras, David Contreras III, Josh Contreras, Cory Contreras.
A funeral viewing will be held Wednesday, December 12, 2018 pm at Templo Sinai Baytown, 6214 Wade Road Baytown, Texas 77521 between 4:00 pm – 9:00 pm. A service will also be held from 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm. Esther Soria Contreras will have funeral service at Earthman Funeral Home, 3919 Garth Road; Baytown, Texas 77521 on December 13, 2018 at 10:00 am. Interment will be held at Earthman Memory gardens Cemetery, 8624 Garth Road, Baytown, Texas 77521 following service.
