On Friday, September 6th, our sweet Emily Grace Alvarez, loving daughter and sister, passed away at the age of 16. Emily was an avid reader and baker. She spent endless hours in the kitchen and hundreds of hours reading. Her desserts were always shared with those she loved. You could always tell an Emily dessert, because, like her, Emily’s baked goods were sweet, and you could never get enough of them. They weren’t just beautiful on the outside, they were filled with goodness on the inside. Like Emily, they were light and airy and made you feel good on the inside. Like Emily, you always wanted more. Our Emily shared her goodness with everyone she met and her sweets sabotaged many a diet, but like time spent with Emily it was always worth it. Emily never hesitated to share her love. She loved deeply and unconditionally. Her avid reading made her wiser than her years, and she never hesitated to give her heartfelt, but sometimes tough love advice. Emily transformed every room she was in and made it more colorful, more vibrant, more cozy, and more loving. Her creativity, photographer’s eye, and charitable heart blessed so many. We will miss our Emily more than words can express-but we will live every day to make her forever proud of us, as we will always be of her.
She is survived by her mother, Erika; father; Jose, sister; Lili; brother JoJo; grandparents; numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins who all loved her dearly.
A visitation for Emily will be held Thursday, September 12, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St. John's Catholic Church, 800 W. Baker Rd., Baytown, Texas 77521. Funeral Mass will begin at 11:00 AM, with interment to follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Baytown, Texas.
