Emery “E.L.” McCullough, 85, of Baytown, went to be with the Lord Thursday, March 9, 2006. He was born July 13, 1920 in Fort Worth, TX. He served his country in the Army Air Corps. He enlisted September 11, 1940 He was a Staff Sergeant and Radio Operator and served in the South Pacific, Solomon Islands, Fiji, Guadel Canal, New Georgia, and the Battle of Coral Sea. After his service in WWII, he was employed by Humble Oil and Refinery Company, where he retired after 37 years as an Administrative Supervisor. He was a member of First Baptist Church. He was a member of the V.F.W. He also was a member and past president and District Deputy Grand Master of the Masonic Lodge Baytown # 1357. He helped to build the building they are currently in. He was a recipient of the Golden Trowel Award and the Knights York Cross of Honor. He was a member of the Scottish Rite. He also was a past commander of the Knights Templar, Kennedy Commandery #63.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Emery Sr. and Johnnie McCullough; sisters, Pat Daly, Jo Beth Cummings; brother, Don McCullough.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Pauline McCullough; daughters, Lois Fassino and husband Fred, Patsy Cargill; grandchildren, Sharon Fassino, Stephen Fassino, Karen York and husband Paul, Elise Allen and husband Michael, Laura Dahlberg and husband Alan; great grandchildren, Alyse York, Cody York, Seth York, Caleb Allen, Colton Allen, Kirsten Dahlberg, Nathan Dahlberg; sister, Jean Wilganowski; sister-in-law, Georgia McCullough.
His family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home Saturday from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Funeral services are scheduled for Sunday 2:00 p.m. at Navarre Funeral Home, officiated by Rev. Bill Ingram. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
