Ella Louise Sherron

Ella Louise Sherron was born in Emberson, Texas on March 23, 1943 to Morris B. Sherron and Dorothy Christopher Sherron. She passed from this world at the age of 69, on August 5, 2012. She graduated from Sam Houston State Teachers College in 1964, with a Bachelors in Education and later received a Masters in Education at the University of Houston Clear Lake. She taught in the La Porte Independent School District for 42 years and is a member of the La Porte Retired School Employees Association. Ella was awarded the Honorary Life Membership of the Texas Congress of Parents and Teachers after many years of being a wonderful educator. Ella is also a member of the Baytown Area Retired School Employees Association. She is a long time member of The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International. She is a 35 year member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, and the past president of their Texas Beta Delta Chapter. Ella was also an endowed member of the Order of the La Porte Eastern Star Grand Chapter of Texas and held many offices during her tenure as well as past Worthy Matron of her chapter. She is a member of the St. John's United Methodist Church in Baytown, Texas.

Ella is survived by her brother A. David Sherron and his wife Doris: niece Darla McKenna and husband John: nephew Mark Sherron and wife Linda: great nephews and nieces John David and Sarah Racz, William Racz, Sherron Racz, Caitlin Lassiter and Zane Lassiter.

Visitation will be Tuesday at Navarre Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at St. John's United Methodist Church, 501 S. Alexander, Baytown, Texas 77520 with Rev. John Burchell officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Memorial Park.

The family expresses special thanks to her caregiver Maria Perez for her devotion and kindness during her illness.

Ella will be remembered for the love she had for teaching and the love of family. In lieu of flowers, her family request donations be made to the St. John's United Methodist Church in Baytown, Texas.
