Edward Franklin Gardner, age 90 passed away on Thursday, March 23, 2023. Edward was born on May 22, 1932 to Louis Elton Gardner and Hazel Mae Gardner, who preceded him in death. He is also preceded in death by his brothers Dewey Gardner, James Gardner, Ervin Gardner, and Ernest Gardner; sister Wilber Pate; granddaughter Jenifer Gardner; son in law Larry Clebosky; brother in law Cecil Pate; and sister in law Hazel Gardner.
Surviving Edward are his loving wife of 68 years, Frances Gardner; daughter Sheree Clebosky; sons Randy (Carol) and Danny (Lyn) Gardner, brother Benny Gardner and sister in law Barbara Gardner; grandchildren Alecia Gaston, Brandon (Cameron) Gardner, Blake Gardner, Bret Gardner, Alex Alvarado, Sara Clebosky (Thomas), and Garret Clebosky; great grandchildren Graycen Clebosky, Easton Bradley, Clay Bradley, Mollie Bradley, Adalynn Clebosky, Ace Gaston, and Cayden Gaston; and many nieces and nephews.
Edward served his country in the U.S. Army from January 21, 1951 to January 15, 1954. He was an E-5 Sargent. He held many occupations in his working years. Edward worked for Armco Steel for 30 years, Sheffield Steel Workers Federal Credit Union for 27 years, Harris County Federal Credit Union for 24 years, was Chairman of the Board there for 4 years. He worked for Harris County Sheriff's Department for 8 years and Constable Precinct 3 for 13 years. He sat on the Board of Directors for 2 credit unions for 51 years.
Edward was a member of the Mason's and Scottish Rite. He was the head of the Shriners Galena Park Masonic Lodge. He was a very active member in the Shriners Organization. Edward worked with the Shrine Circus for years -roustabouts, usher, setting up and tearing down the Shrine Circus. He received 6 Clown Awards for Circus sales and was on the Shriners Cooking Team for 17 years. He served as President of the Baytown Shrine Club in 2000, Ambassador for Arabia Shriners (Houston, Texas), as Baytown Shrine Club Scribe for 3 years, and served on the Board of Directors for Baytown Shrine for several years.
