Don Richard Kimball, 80, of Cypress, TX passed away peacefully Wednesday, March 30 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Liberty, TX on February 11, 1942 to R.K. and Sadie Hollaway Kimball. He was married to Earline Barr Kimball for 54 years before her passing in 2019. Richard worked in the petrochemical industry for Oxy Chemical in Pasadena and retired after 35 years.
He honorably and voluntarily served in the US Army from 1961-1963 and loved his country very much. He was a deacon for many years at Central Baptist Church Baytown, First Baptist Church Baytown, as well as the Metropolitan Baptist Church in Houston.
He had a strong faith, and everyone who knew him witnessed his Christian example. He was also an avid outdoorsman. Richard adored his children and four grandchildren, who referred to him as Pops. No matter what it was, Pops always stayed up-to-date on the interests of his grandchildren. This included playing Minecraft, listening to music, watching sports, or sending TikToks to his grandkids.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Earline Barr Kimball; his parents, R.K. and Sadie Hollaway Kimball; brother, Jack Kimball; and sister Janet Sowell.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Reese and Elisha Kimball; daughter and son-in-law, Chad and Dawn Ivie; grandchildren, Gracie Hamilton, Camden Kimball, Zach Hamilton and Cale Kimball; brother, Tommy Kimball; sister-in-law, Marilynn Klaus; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bob and Lynda Barr. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members and wonderful friends.
Pallbearers are Wade Hicks, John Conway, Darron Hicks, Dallas Hicks, Jay Barr, Terry Barr, Chad Ivie, Chad Starr, Cole Starr, and Travis Thurgood. Honorary pallbearers are lifelong friends, Billy Peacock and Frankie Gilbert.

The family will receive friends for visitation at Navarre Funeral Home, 2444 Rollingbrook Dr., Baytown, Texas 77521, on Thursday, April 7, 2022, from 12 – 1:00 pm with funeral services to begin at 1:00. Internment will follow at Hill of Rest Cemetery.
