old. She was our beloved Mom, Dolly, Sister II, Auntie Di, cousin, friend, and neighbor. She
was proud to be a 7th generation Texan, an employee of NASA for 44 years, and a Texas
Longhorn and Houston Astros fan.
Dianne was born October 9, 1943 in Goose Creek, Texas. She graduated with the
Robert E. Lee High School Class of 1962 and was a Brigadier twirler. She attended the
University of Texas and then began her career at the NASA Johnson Space Center in Clear
Lake, Texas. High points of her 44 years at NASA were being interviewed for the LA Times
Women of Apollo series, touring the Endeavour after landing at Ellington Field, seeing the last
shuttle launch, and receiving the Johnson Space Center Director’s Commendation Award.
Dianne was a licensed broker in real estate in the Clear Lake area. When she returned to
Baytown, she rekindled many friendships at Memorial Baptist Church and in her bridge club.
Her neighbors became a part of her family.
Dianne was predeceased by her parents, Lawrence and Katherine “Kitty” Milner and her
sister and brother-in-law, Yvonne Milner Kitchel and Wayne Kay Kitchel.
She is survived by her sons, Franklin William Brizzolara III of Clear Lake, Texas and
Michael Raif Brizzolara and husband, Matthew Greene of Fairfax, California, and grandsons,
Blake Elliot Brizzolara Greene and Ethan Reed Brizzolara Greene, and special Bassett Hound
girls, Clover and Sophie. Dianne absolutely adored her “guys” and furry friends.
She is also survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Jerrilyn Milner Copeland and Calvin
Ray Copeland of Beach City, Texas along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
All who knew her would agree that she was the sassiest and most poetic of the three sister
jewels and generous beyond measure by always sharing a casserole, planning a gathering, and
baking chocolate chips cookies.
Services will be held in the chapel at Memorial Baptist Church, 600 W Sterling Avenue on
Friday, October 4, 2024, with visitation from 10am-11am and service to begin at 11am. A
committal service will follow at Earthman Memory Gardens at 12:30pm.
Dianne was cared for by so many wonderful people and the family extends immense
gratitude to Lidia, Paulina, Bob, Pablo, Kathy, Dennis and Mel for their devotion and kindness.
In lieu of usual remembrances contributions may be made to the Baytown Special
Olympics Team and Bassett Buddies of Texas.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared with Dianne’s family at
