Delma was born on February 10, 1962 in Mathis, TX to Bertha Gonzalez and Alonzo Tapia Chapa Jr. She was happily married to her devoted husband Brian Borough Long for 15 years. She worked for Gary Bailey Farmer’s Insurance for many years where she met some of the best people and also worked in the mortgage industry. She spent more than the last decade staying home where she took pride in being a loyal, caring, wife and homemaker. She was a proud member of Faith Family Church Baytown where she enjoyed serving on the hospitality team. She loved coffee and loved serving it to her church family. She enjoyed gardening and loved to be outside tending to her flowers and plants. She is most known for her warm smile, giving heart, and gift of hospitality.
Delma is preceded in death by her mother, Bertha Gonzalez. She is survived by her husband Brian Long; daughter, Hope Rhodes and husband Bryan of Baytown; son, John C. Rodriguez and wife Maggie of Baytown; step-daughter, Jenn Perez and husband Stephen of Deer Park; grandchildren, Christian Rhodes, Bo Rhodes, Sage Rodriguez, and Brooklyn Perez; her father Alonzo Chapa Jr.; twin sissy, Delia Aguilar and her husband David; sister Dora Torres and her late husband Joe; brother, Alonzo Chapa, III and wife Isabel; brothers-in-law, Peter Long and wife Laurie, James Long and wife Patricia, and Michael Long; sister-in-law, Karen Conner and husband Jim. She also is survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.

The family will receive friends for visitation from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, May 6, 2021 at Navarre Funeral Home, 2444 Rollingbrook Dr., Baytown, TX. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 am in the Chapel of Navarre Funeral Home on Friday, May 7, 2021.
