Danny L. Shelton passed away on October 9, 2019. He is survived by a daughter, Leslie A. Shelton; grandson, Kaylan P. Shelton; sister, Gail Berry; brother, Jesse Shelton. He is preceded in death by his parents, Arvel and Ruby Shelton; wife of 43 years, Brenda K. Silliman Shelton.
Shelton was born in Houston, Texas on November 22, 1946 and lived most of his life in the Houston Area. He is a graduate of Jesse Jones High School, San Jacinto College and the University of Houston. After college, Shelton pursued a 30-year career in Oil and Gas, working mostly with Natural Gas Transmission Companies. Shelton retired in 2001 and began a quest to visit as many State and National Parks as possible.
Shelton served in the United States Army from 1968-1970, including service in Viet Nam from December 1968 to December 1969.
In his spare time, Shelton enjoyed bowling, stargazing, photography and traveling.
The family will receive friends at 10am on Friday, October 18, 2019 at Earthman Baytown Funeral Home, 3919 Garth Road, Baytown, Texas 77521. A Celebration of Life will begin at 11am. Interment will follow at Earthman Memory Gardens Cemetery, 8624 Garth Road, Baytown, Texas 77521.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be made to the General Scholarship Fund of San Jacinto College or the University of Houston in Shelton’s name.
