I worked with Cynda more than 20 years ago at Exxon.  I remember her as a very hard worker with never ending energy.  I would visit her at Snowflake Bakery way back in those days.  May you find comfort in knowing that Cynda is walking the streets of gold with Jesus in a healthy new body.  My prayers are with you all during this difficult time.

I remember going out in her brother
 Ed's boat,going down the ship channel,and she would make him stop so she could get in the water. She would laugh all the time while floating in Galveston Bay,because she was hot, and wanted to cool off.  Ed would tell her to hurry up,and she would start laughing.  She laughed all the time, and her laughter was contagious.  My prayers are with ya'll during this very hard time.  May God be with you.

When I was little I had an imaginary friend.  Mother convinced Aunt Bonnie that the cure to that was to have Cynda come live with us - since we are only 4 months apart in age.  Amazingly my imaginary friend moved away when Cynda came to stay.  This wasn't a comfortable arrangement for my sister Etta since all three of us had to sleep in the same double bed for a long long time!  

Cynda had a funny laugh - Daddy used to call her Camm-a-cackle.  

She didn't deserve to spend 8 years in the body she had - but now she's free.  My live imaginary friend - my cousin - my sister.

I still remember her, myself and Sheri thinking we were the three musketeers in our younger days.  

I see the same beauty in Cynda that I see in her mother.

And yes, I can see Bammie opening up her arms and greeting Cynda.

I'll always remember Cynda's smile, laugh and how sweet she was. But the one thing that will live in my memory forever is her yelling ""HAIR!!"" at 4:00 in the morning.  One of our roommates had a minature dachshund named Hair who loved Cynda and especially loved getting between her feet when she was getting ready for work.  We didn't need alarm clocks 'cause we had Hair and Cynda!  

Those were some happy times in all our lives.

Oh my dear dear Cindy.  What a beautiful smile and sweet loving heart. I remember when I had Ray and visitors would come to the hospital with a heavy heart & I felt I had to console them. But when you and Sheri came ya'll made me laugh. I knew ya'll shared my pain but it's the laughing I remember most. Over the years you and Ray became very close and became email buddies. I will always be greatful for the time you shared with him.  You always had time for him and I know you both received a blessing from God with the love the two of you shared. 

I also remember when you were in the nursing home.  I asked the nurse if we could have the showers for about an hour.  She gave me such a funny look, but I knew how long your showers use to last.  Darra & I sat on one side of the shower curtain while you enjoyed the freedom to spend as much time in the shower as you wished.  Don't know if anyone has ever used up all the hot water but I bet you came mighty close. After an hour, the nurse knocked on the door and said it was time we vacated the showers.  It hurt me when I told you we had to go back to the room because I knew that was the only time you experienced freedom.  But you just smiled and in your broken sentences you kept saying thank you thank you thank you.  But I am the one who should have said thank you because you allowed me to show you how much I loved you.  You were always so giving but this time I could give to you.

You've gone home now. I can see you,Ray and Great Grandmother all smiling and laughing and embracing each other and yes, even running. I will miss you but I find comfort in knowing you are with the Lord and some day I can embrace, laugh & run with ya'll also.

Memories of Cynda would not be complete without remembering the many times she went with us to Belton, especially when she, Sheri, Wanda, Bo and Steve learned to swim and love the water as they played ""boat tag"" with uncle Punk.  Such laughter and excitement as they tried to maneuver past Punk to touch the boat, which was the safety zone.
Later stopping for an ice cream or drink treat in Caldwell, then exhausted little people sleeping the rest of the way back to our place in Bryan.
They were happy experiences in her childhood and she always remembered them-even when she was finding her way through the worst of times.
