Clifford was a retired real estate agent and had also worked for Humble Oil, where he was one of the original computer programmers. He was a member of the Goose Creek Masonic Lodge #1192 AF&AM and the Arabia Shrine Center in Houston. In his spare time he was a UFO enthusiast.
Mr. Rowe was also known as the man that saved the oak tree on Texas Avenue. During his government class, at Lee College, he was elected as ""Mayor of the Day"" for Baytown. On the agenda that day was the removal of the oak tree on Texas Avenue. He voted to not remove it and it still stands there today thanks to his vote.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian Ida Rowe; parents, Clifford Rowe, Sr., Grace Rowe, Joyce Baker and Ella Calhoun Baker and a granddaughter, Andrea Castle.
Survivors include his son, Keith Rowe and his wife Kim of Houston; daughter, Vicki Rowe of Houston; grandchildren, Lindsey Burns and her husband Joe, Christa Rowe, Lauren Rowe and Jason Castle; great-grandchildren, Reagan, Lilly, Jessie, Emma and Braeden; sister, Patsy Brewer and sister-in-law, Juanita Stanley.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at Navarre Funeral Home. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, January 10, 2013 at the funeral home with Rev. Roy Cloudt officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens.
