He was born March 27, 1920 in Livingston to his late Parents: George Rhodes and Mintora Myres Rhodes, lived most of his life in Baytown, was a retired Security Guard from Exxon after more than 30 years of service, was a member of the Sunflower Baptist Church in Livingston and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Clarence was preceded in death by his Parents; Daughter: Joann Rhodes; Granddaughter: Alison Rhodes; Brother: Oscar Rhodes and a Sister: Stella Kirvin.
Survivors include: Wife: Jessie Rhodes of Baytown; Daughter: Karen Smith and her husband Kent of Baytown; Step-sons: Blue Burns and his wife Susie of Old River and Corky Burns of Houston; Sisters: Corrine Mills of Houston and Pauline Stringer of Baytown; 3 Granddaughters; 1 Great-Grandson and Numerous Nieces and Nephews.
The family would like to send a Special Thank You to the San Jacinto Methodist Hospital Nurses of 3 West and Carla of the Goose Creek Rehabilitation in Baytown.

A graveside service will be held at 2:30 PM, Sunday, January 6, 2008 at the Holly Grove Cemetery in Rye with Rev. Mitchell Murphy officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Navarre Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Baytown.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Saturday, January 5, 2008 at the Navarre Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Baytown.
