Can't believe that its been so long since he's moved on. I was telling my kids just the other day about the man who changed my life FOREVER. I was coming from  another institution and not on the best of terms either, and had to interview with Professor Gould. I start rambling off rehearsed excuses and he stopped me.  He then made me promise to show up on time, be a professional, DO THE WORK and to not make him regret him giving me a second chance. It changed my life. I'm so grateful to have known him because he was truly a great man. I'm in Radiology Administration at the organization I work for now. I wouldn't have made it without Professor Gould. So for the ONE MILLIONTH & FIRST TIME. THANK YOU, GOD BLESS, AND REST EASY PROFESSOR.

i am so sorry to hear of the Professor\\\'s passing.  He was a good man and a good friend.  The years I played in his band were truly some of the best times for me as a guitar player.  We alwasys had a good time no matter where the gig or size of the audience.  I learned a lot about the guitar and the music business in general from the Professor.  And his knowledge of music and the history of  rock and roll and the blues always impressed me to no end.  I will truly miss him and every time I pick up my guitar I will think of him.

I first met Chris when my son, Steve, and I were both students in the late 80\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s.  Now I am a member of the staff, my son has gone on to make his fortune using the knowledge Chris shared with him and Chris never once failed to ask me about him and the grands everytime we saw each other on campus.  This came as a shock and he will be missed but he is where we all strive to be someday.  May God heal the sorrow of his loss.

My heartfelt condolences to the Gould family.  I always enjoyed my interaction with him at work and know that he was extremely proud of his family.  He will be greatly missed at SJC.

Chris was my coworker in the Health Science Division.  As a new SJC educator, I was blessed to have him as a \\\""next door office mate\\\"". The guidance and laughter he offered will be sorely missed. I am proud to call him my friend.  My heart felt condolences and my prayers are with his family that he loved so much.

A friend who is far away is sometimes much nearer than one who is at hand. Is not the mountain far more awe-inspiring and more clearly visible to one passing through the valley than to those who inhabit the mountain?

I only had the honor of knowing Mr. Gould a brief time, but I did have an opportunity to observe him at his very best.  I saw his face light up when his daughter and grandchildren returned from a shopping trip. The power of that love made a strong impression on me. I also am aware of how much sacrifice he made to protect and provide for his children in good times and bad. His legacy is great and the lives he touched numerous, but perhaps his family is the best tribute of all.

Chris was a wonderful family man who loved his wife, children and grandchildren. He always seemed happiest when a grandchild was in his arms.He will be missed by his family, his college family and his church family. His service to God is still on-going and he will always be watching over his family.

I knew very little about his music or career,just that he had talent and intelligence. He was absolutely dedicated to his family. I always felt his concern for his children was foremost in his mind. I took my ideas of what a husband should be from his obvious adoration of Mom. No man was ever more in love or showed it so completely. He accepted me, loud and outspoken, and allowed me to call him Dad.

I HAVE KNOWN CHRIS SINCE MARCH OF 1964, WHEN WE WE MET AT MELBOURNE WARD IN HOUSTON. HE WAS A GOOD FRIEND AND I LIVED WITH HIM AND HIS FAMILY IN SPRING BRANCH DURING THE SUMMER OF 1966.
            ALTHOUGH WE SAW LITTLE OF EACH OTHER AS THE YEARS PASSED HE STILL REMAINED LIKE A BROTHER TO ME AND WE CONTINUED TO TALK ON THE PHONE OCASSIONALLY. IAM VERY SAD AT HIS PASSING BUT HAPPY WITH THE KNOWLEDGE THAT I WILL SEE HIM AGAIN IN THE FUTURE. HE WAS A GOOD FATHER AND HUSBAND, AND FRIEND AND A GOOD MEMBER OF THE CHURCH WHICH HE SHALL CONTINUE TO BE ON THE OTHER SIDE. IF I COULD TALK NOW TO HIM I WOULDNT SAY GOODBYE, JUST SO LONG FOR AWHILE.

Josh leads a Praise band now and it is because of the lessons learned and the confidence given from the Professor.  The Professor\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s knowledge of blues history really impressed Josh and he looked forward each visit to talking with the Professor about the blues and blues players.  He will be missed.

I worked as the Admin. Assistant for Chris from 1999-2001 at San Jac Central and he was my favorite department chair that I assisted.  He was very easy going and very compassionate about his work and his students.

My father and I had the pleasure of spending some really nice time with Chris and his wife Joanna in October of 2004 after not seeing him for almost 30 years. Mr Gould once told us that the best job and title he had ever earned was the one of ""Grandpa.""  What a great father and grandfather he must have been....I know ""the force"" was with him. Dear Gould Family, I was a former student of Chris in 1986 no matter how old we have be come Chris always remembered us at the conventions or contuiing education class . Chris was an awsume teacher and I can remember stories of his son Chistpher in class and the be songs he use to sing with his guiture . Chris was what I call a gentle giant . He seemed so scarry to talk to when he would test you but he was there if you happened to fall. My husband & I met Chris in 1986. As soon as I met Chris, He won me over. First, with his voice, second, with his great guitar playing, then his wonderful friendship. (That all happened within 10 minutes I think!:) 
Chris, I know, is where God needs him to be at this time. With family & probably playing with Buddy, Stevie, and the all-time great musicians & playing in God's glorious symphony.
 It was always a joke, for the band to introduce me as the ""President of the Fan Club"" but, I was and still am honored as everyone else to have known Chris and his family.

I remember when He and Joanna were expecting their first Grandchild and Zach came into the world, oh, how Chris's eyes lit up and he grinned that funny grin whenever I asked about him. Please accept my deepest condolences for the loss of Mr. Gould. He was my clinical instructor at San Jacinto College in Pasadena in 1981. Over the years I had seen him helping radiology professionals keep their licenses current. He always was friendly to me. He really loved teaching and it showed. I was working at Texas Children's Hospital back in 1999 and 2000 when I believe his daughter had a child there. He told me he was so proud and happy that I was the technologist that took the baby's xrays at that time there. He was very excited that he had had a hand in teaching me alot about radiology work. I did learn alot from him and for that I am extremely grateful. He was a very nice and kind man. He definitely will be missed. He made radiology way more fun than it would have been otherwise for many people. God be with his family now and always.

We were so blessed to have the Professor play at our backyard wedding reception last month.  We will always remember his reaction when the police were called out for the music being too loud for our Kingwood neighborhood.  After being asked to turn down the volume just a tiny bit, he just shook his head with kindof a blank look on his face and said \\\""it won\\\'t sound right!\\\""  

Well, Professor, you are playing in heaven now and we are willing to bet that you can play as loud and as long as you want!

I have known Chris for many years and we worked very close together in the Bay Area Medical Imaging Society (BAMIS).  In fact  he was to have been incoming Vice President for 2007. He was always the first speaker at our annual May seminar and he was always entertaing as well as informative. PB was a dear friend and brother to me. For the past 17 years, I was his bass player in the Professor Blues Band. We started at Frankie\\\'s in the 90s and our home base will always be Frankie\\\'s. PB achieved some magical results at Fenders with Gene Kelton\\\'s 60s Show and Reunion. Professor was hitting on all eight and was dynamite. Then there was the poignant last show on December 19 at Sundowners. Gene & Joni Kelton, special friends,  stopped by to visit for the first set, even though they had a gig of their own that day. Connie Carey, the President of Professor Blue\\\'s Fan Club, was there in support, as she most always was. Betty\\\'s 82-year old mother came to see Thurman play. She stayed until the third set and wanted PB to have the band play \\\""Elvira.\\\"" Well that is a country song and no one knew it but PB. He sang every word and \\\""um pa pa mau mau\\\"" impressively. His talent was beyond a single genre. He could virtually do anything and he made that little old lady very happy that night. I will miss him more than words can say. God must have wanted James Brown and Professor Blues in the same week for a special heavenly project. I loved him. I pray for his beautiful family that peace would surround them at this time.
