Cheryl Lynn Tomlinson

Cheryl Lynn Stoerner Tomlinson, 62, of Baytown passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, February 23, 2014. Cheryl was born on August 22, 1951 in Baytown. After graduating from Robert E. Lee High School Cheryl married Allen Tomlinson and the two began a family. While her children were young Cheryl attended night classes at The University of Houston Clear Lake earning a Bachelors and a Master's Degree. Cheryl then began a long teaching career at Baytown Junior High School. Cheryl enjoyed spending time with her long-time teacher friends, her bible study group, collecting all things ""Flip-Flop"" and spending time in her garden watching her beloved hummingbirds. The family's annual pilgrimage to Wimberley for the week of July Fourth was so very special to Cheryl, and above all, Cheryl lived for her grandchildren; they were the light of her life.

Cheryl was preceded in death by her husband of forty years, Allen Tomlinson. Left to cherish her memory are her parents, Ernest and Jean Stoerner; son, Chris Tomlinson and wife, Nikki; daughter, Jodie Meredith and husband, Jason; brothers, Ernie Stoerner and wife, Paula and Forest Stoerner and wife, Robin; sister, Connie Thibodeaux and grandchildren, Troy, Taylor and Tyson Tomlinson and Jacie and Jaden Meredith.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 27, 2014 from 3:00 until 4:00 p.m. at Memorial Baptist Church, 600 W. Sterling Ave., Baytown, Texas 77520. A memorial service will follow with Rev. Alan Beck officiating.

The family is comforted to know that Cheryl is reunited with her late husband, Allen. They are sure that Mamaw is catching Pawpaw up on all he missed in the past few years.
