Charles Blasingame, 76, of Baytown was born July 7, 1932 in Goose Creek and passed away Thursday, January 29, 2009. He was a member of Mont Belvieu Assembly of God Church and he retired from Solvay Polymers as an operations supervisor with 32 years of service. He was a U. S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War. A licensed pilot, he enjoyed flying his airplanes with his friends and fellow pilots who flew out of Baytown Airport and RWJ Airpark. He enjoyed traveling in his RV and especially enjoyed his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Albert Blasingame and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Otto and Jewel Dorris and is survived by his wife, Joyce Blasingame of Baytown; daughters and sons-in-law, Charla and Chris Malek of Beach City and Cathy and Jon Edelfelt of El Paso; son, Clay Blasingame of Baytown; mother, Jewel Blasingame of Baytown; sister, Margaret Davidson of Pasadena; grandchildren, Lacey and Trent Blasingame and Aaron and Austin Malek; and nieces, nephews and numerous friends.
His family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home Wednesday, February 4, 2009 from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at which time a memorial service will begin with Pastor Don Gibson officiating. At his request, his body was cremated.
In lieu of usual remembrances, contributions may be made to the Mont Belvieu Assembly of God Church Building Fund, P. O. Box 40, Mont Belvieu, TX 77580.
