Charlene Carol Strickland was born on July 4, 1974, in Baytown, Texas to Charles and Glenda Mosley. Charlene passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 27, 2022, at the age of 48. She was the mother to one son, Carter Strickland, who she faithfully raised with love and pride. Charlene grew up in Channelview, TX and was a current resident of Mont Belvieu, TX. Charlene graduated from Channelview High School where she was Drill Team Major for the Channelettes.
Charlene went on to graduate from the University of Houston – Clear Lake where she received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology, and then a Secondary Education Certification and became a teacher. Charlene had a very successful career which started as a high school science teacher in Channelview ISD. She returned to U of H – Clear Lake where she received a Master of Science Degree in School Library and Information Science and then began her career as a librarian in Goose Creek CISD. For the last 6 years, Charlene served as the Coordinator of Instructional Materials in Pasadena ISD. For several years, she served on the Board of Instructional Materials Coordinators Association of Texas (IMCAT) and currently holds the office of Treasurer. Beyond her work, she loved to travel and enjoyed her trips around the world with her family and friends.
Charlene was preceded in death by her father Charles Mosley, Grandparents Ernest and Audrey Mosley, and Billy and Ruth Mayfield. Charlene is survived by her son Carter Strickland, mother Glenda Mosley, sister Regina King and husband Shannon King, and her nephew Chad Goodman. Charlene was loved by family and friends alike and touched many lives in her time on earth. She will be missed dearly.
A memorial service for Charlene will be held Saturday, December 10, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Navarre Funeral Home, 2444 Rollingbrook Drive, Baytown, TX 77521.
