Bruce was born in Alvin, Texas to Clifford Allen and Frances (Fannie) Louise Holbein Roush. After graduating from Jefferson Davis High School, he proudly served in the U.S. Navy during WWII as a Boatswain’s Mate and a Coxswain delivering Marines to the beaches of Okinawa and Leyte Gulf.
Bruce was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Fanny Louise Finch Roush; daughter, Judie Roush Dunn; and brother Allen Roush.
He is survived by his daughter Teri Rhodes and husband Keff, grandchildren Keffer Rhodes, Judie Rhodes, and Amie Dunn; loving companions, Libby DeLaune and Andy Bruce; sister, Mildred Gorrel and husband Don; nephews Kenneth E. Kelly, Andy Finch, Allen Majeski, and many other family members and friends.
Bruce and Fanny were owners of Roush Dance Studio for 45 years in Baytown. He retired after 25 years from Lee College in the Physical Education Department. He tirelessly donated his time and talents to local organizations such as the Baytown Little Theater, Red Stocking Review, Baytown and LaPorte High School Musicals, and the LaPorte High School Chatos, and many others over the past 45 years.
A memorial service will be held Friday at 2:00 p.m. at Navarre Funeral Home, officiated by Rev. Mark Stafford.
