Brenda Jo Davison, born September 17, 1939, passed away peacefully in League City, Texas, on November 4, 2016. She was the daughter of Burt and Nettie Davison and is survived by her siblings and their spouses, Jeffrey L. (Buddy) Davison and his wife Vicki, Cindy Hightower and her husband Gary, and Debbie Amerson and her husband Dan. She also leaves behind many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
As the oldest of four children, Brenda cherished her role as ""big sister."" ""Sissy"" took pride in watching out for her younger brother. She was a pre-teen when her two sisters were born and loved taking care of them. She also cherished her beloved cats and called them her ""babies.""
Brenda attended Cedar Bayou School, where she, as well as all her siblings, was a cheerleader. She was in the famous Robert E. Lee Brigadiers and was in a picture of the group on the cover of Life magazine. She graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in 1958.
After high school, Brenda went to work in the office of Schlumberger oilfield services. Yearning to see more of the world, she became a flight attendant with Delta Airlines, feeling proud to wear the iconic stewardess uniform of the 1960's. She flew all over the world for Delta for approximately 35 years, retiring as In-Flight Service Coordinator International. One of her proudest moments was being one of the flight attendants who flew the U.S. delegation (headed by Henry Kissinger) from New York to Paris for the 1970's Paris Peace Talks that brought a conclusion to the Viet Nam War.
Brenda loved unique homes and lived in a mid-century modern in Houston, TX, an A-frame chalet in Evergreen, CO., and a multistory lake house in Jonesboro, GA. Her final home was at The Cottages in League City, where she received wonderful loving care from all the staff.
In recent years, Brenda wrote a book (as yet unpublished) entitled Flying Too Close to the Ground about her years as a stewardess. Even as her memory declined, she often spoke about her years flying and her need to ""hurry and catch a flight."" She was right on time for her Final Flight and now is soaring through Heaven with her angels.
A graveside service will be held at 9:30 a.m., on Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at Cedarcrest Cemetery located at 3010 Ferry Road, Baytown TX 77520. Officiating will be Pastor Dan Amerson.
