Betty Jo Epperson of Mont Belvieu entered into eternal rest at the age of 77 at the home of her daughter in Bryan, TX on May 9, 2009. Funeral services are set for Wednesday, May 13 at 10:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Mont Belvieu, with her pastor, Jake Porter officiating. Betty's family will receive guests during a visitation on Tuesday, May 12 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Navarre Funeral Home in Baytown. Betty will be laid to rest next to her husband, Ray, in the Fisher Cemetery in Mont Belvieu.
Betty was born to Irvin and Jenny Kemp in Mont Belvieu. She graduated from Barbers Hill and married her high school sweetheart Ray Epperson in November 1949. She shared her faith as a member of First Baptist Church Mont Belvieu where she and Ray were long-time members. Betty enjoyed sewing and crafts and her greatest joy was time spent with her family.
Preceding Betty in death are her parents, her husband of 54 years, and her brother Vernon ""Potsy"" Kemp.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Sheri and Bennie Camp of Bryan, and her grandchildren Courtney and Michael Camp. She is also survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Billie Sue and Bobby Joe Austin both of Mont Belvieu, and her sister-in law, Dorothy Kemp as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
The family asks that memorials be made to First Baptist Church, Mont Belvieu.
