Betty had a career car hopping and in clothing and jewelry. She worked for West Main Café, Woolco, and she loved mowing lawns and cleaning houses. Betty loved her dogs Babygirl, Coco, Stripe, Max, and Bell. She loved and enjoyed going to Mom’s and Buck Shot Jamboree to listen to her husband (Ken Cole) sing on the weekends. Betty also loved to play Bingo and she loved going to Delta Downs to play the Slots.
Betty is preceded in death by her father, James Franklin Utz; mother, Frances Anna Welstead Utz; beloved husband of 42 years, Malcolm Kenneth Cole; sister, Dorothy Frances Utz Lucas; brothers, Charles Franklin Utz “Chuck”, William Harold Scott “Bill”; daughter, Frances Elaine Cannon Sheppard “Kitten”; son, Ben Austin Cannon “Pistol”; and grandson, Michael Ben Sheppard “Ben”.
She is survived by her son, Russell Hayden Cannon “T-bird” and wife Michelle of Crosby, TX; grandson, Jeremy Harrison Cannon and wife Jamie of Huffman, TX; granddaughter, Keeton Elaine Cannon “Keke” of Crosby, TX; nieces, Tammy Elaine Lucas Hamel and husband Jered of Inverness, FL, Rayleen Helen Osteen Raines and husband Glen of Carthage, TX; nephew, James Ray Osteen of Odessa, TX; great-grandchildren, Harper Grace Cannon, Lawson Edward Cannon, and Davin James Cannon of Huffman, TX.
A memorial visitation will be held from 5-7 pm, Monday, January 29, 2024, at Navarre Funeral Home Chapel, 2444 Rollingbook Dr., Baytown, TX 77521.
