Barbara Jean Whitley passed away peacefully in her home of 62 years on Saturday, April 30, 2022 in the company and care of her loving daughters. She was born December 23, 1939 in Mexia, Texas and lived most of her life in Baytown.
Barbara was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Bill Whitley; parents, Marie and Lester Williams, and her beloved dog, Rambo.
She is survived by her daughters Kimberly Hall and Kristi Kimbro; sons-in-law, Kevin Kimbro and Keith Hall; aunt, Jeannie Reavis; friends and care-givers, Sherry and Isiah Alfred, Talya Smith and Batina Smith; sister, Carol Davis and many other close and dear friends.
Barbara was a very devoted and loving mother. Her daughters couldn’t imagine a better mother and will miss her greatly. She loved gardening and had a beautiful backyard. She loved to go two-stepping and waltzing with her late husband, Bill. Barbara loved animals and had many pets throughout her entire life. She worked 30 years for the Harris County PCT 3 Constables office and was the assistant chief clerk when she retired. She enjoyed her job very much and made many close, life-long friends during her tenure there.
A visitation will be held at Navarre Funeral Home from 5:00 to 7:00 pm, Monday, May 9, 2022 with funeral services on Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at 11:00 am at Navarre Funeral Home with burial to follow at Cedarcrest Cemetery.
Honored to serve as pallbearers will be: Kevin Kimbro, Norman "Bubba" Carrow Jr., Brent Costlow, Edward George, Sam Lindsey, and Dane Whitley Wilcox. Honorary pallbearers will be: Jack Adcox, Tim Bort, and Isiah Alfred.
