She is survived by her parents, Rodolfo and Susana Venegas, sisters Renee' and Damon Parrrott, Maureen Venegas Cox, and Ruth Venegas. Nieces and nephews include, Renaldo Angelo, Rudy Negron, Reuel Andres Negron, Gabriel Oren Cox, Rachel Nicole Cox, Marisa Elizabeth Cox, and Vincent Venegas. Numerous cousins, aunts and uncles. Each whom she loved very much.
She graduated from Robert E. Lee High School. She was involved in many school activities from Jr school to high school including, basketball, Special Olympics, cheerleading, bowling, numerous plays and performances, and the choir with Baytown Jr. School. She won several trophies and medals during her participation in these activities. A very special thanks to Coach Russell and his teaching staff with the special needs program at GCCISD.
She enjoyed bowling with the Saturday league at Bay Lanes Bowling with all her friends. Many thanks to Mr. Emmit Wach, who organized this event. Special thanks to Bay Lanes for donating Saturday mornings so that this special group of special young adults could bowl.
She also enjoyed her Art classes every Tuesday evening at the Baytown Arts League. She did several paintings which were displayed at the art center on Texas Avenue and several more she gave away also some were displayed at her home. All which were enjoyed with her friends. Special thanks to teacher Carol Fox and the staff, which included Naomi Sasse, Julie Gilbert, Luz Cantu, Marsha Landers, and the weekly high school student volunteers, who generously donated their time in working with these special needs students.
She also enjoyed attending her life skills class held every Wednesday evening at Lee College, taught by Ms. Cindy Barney. Many thanks to her, and to Mary Underwood and Betty Sausage for their dedication to these students.
Annette loved and participated in the gatherings of the Association of Special Need Citizens on Friday evenings with her life long friends at the civic center. They danced, listened to music, played games, laughed and enjoyed each others company. They celebrated birthdays, seasonal holidays, exchanged gifts all in the spirit of joy and unity. Many thanks to Ms. Mary Underwood, who volunteered her time twice a month in organizing this special activity. Many fond memories and friendships were created during this special time.
She was a life long member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in which she received all her sacraments. She was a part of the Spirit and Love choir, the youth group, participated in many retreats, was a member of the Guadalupanas, and she was an altar server most Sundays at the 10:30am mass. Everyone knew Annette's loving personality, and pure heart for praying, praising our Lord and giving love. She would bless our priest Fr. Jesus Lizalde before each mass started. She received a plaque from Our Lady of Guadalupe for her dedication for being an altar server for many years.
Annette brought a smile to everyone she encountered. She was always joyful and had a happy disposition. She enjoyed and loved her family very much. Every seasonal holiday, she enjoyed the family gatherings which always included food, dancing, singing, and LOTS of laughs. You can guarantee Annette would have a song or special poem for any and every occasion. She also loved playing her many instruments, which included the guitar, keyboard, percussion, and singing along during her time at home.
Annette attended Bay Area Rehabilitation Center daily from 8:30am-2:30pm, where she participated in continuing education and many social activities with her life long friends. Special thanks to Director Kim Brown, Ms. Maria Rodriguez, Ms. Amber Arceneaux, nurse Wanda Thomas, and nurse Larrina Carrier. As well as many thanks to all the staff who made many fond memories for Annette. Annette would always say this place was her home away from home.
Visitation for Annette will be held Monday, October 26, 2020 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Earthman Funeral Home, Garth Road, Baytown, Texas. A rosary / vigil will occur Monday, October 26, 2020 at 7:00 PM and will be lead by Deacon George Rincon. A mass of christian burial will occur Tuesday, October 27, 2020 at 10:30 AM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 1124 Beech Street, Baytown, Texas. Internment will occur after the mass celebration at Earthman Memory Gardens Cemetery, 8624 Garth Road, Baytown, Texas 77521.
