Anna Elizabeth Herrington passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 31, at her home in Beach City, Texas, after a very short illness. She was born on October 17, 1943, to Alva and Ellis Silliman in Malvern, Arkansas, where she grew up. She graduated from Henderson State University in Arkadelphia, Arkansas.
Anna Beth is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Gary Herrington; two sons and wives, Brandt Herrington and Tara Humphrey of Oak Park, Illinois, and Ryan and Laura Herrington of Beach City; three grandchildren, Alana, Johnny, and Emily; sister, Cherry Silliman; sister-in-law Charlotte Laughlin and husband Tom; and many close cousins and other family members and friends.
Anna Beth touched many lives as a teacher for a number of years at Baytown Junior School and then at Lee College. She was an active member of Memorial Baptist Church, where she served in numerous areas. Anna Beth was a caring and outgoing person who loved everyone she met. She showed her servant's heart in her willingness to help family, friends, neighbors, and anyone else she found who was in need. She loved to take charge and get things done--and accomplished many things with this love for others.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 3, from 5:00 to 7:00 with funeral services on Thursday, February 4, at 10:00 am. Both will be at Memorial Baptist Church. The family requests donations in Anna Beth's memory be made to Children's Camp Fund of Memorial Baptist Church or Memorial Baptist Church.
