Anna Beth was a dear friend .....we shared many good times together,mostly at Memorial Baptist. I now treasure those memories even more...She was a beautiful lady...inside and out.She shined with God’s presence in her life.She was truly a Christian example for young and old. I will miss that now,but look forward to when we all get together again  in God’s perfect timing.

I was saddened to learn of Anna Beth's passing. I was one of Baytown Junior school nurses. Anna Beth and I enjoyed all of our conversations especially when we discovered we graduated from the same alma mater Henderson State University in Arkadelphia, AR.  She wore a southern smile always. We also  learned we lived in neighboring cities in AR. An instant 'Reddie' spirit was developed and maintained. My sincere condolences to the family.

Mrs. Annabelle you didn't know the impact you made in my life as I work for Baytown jr for 6years, you encourage me to go to college to get my teaching degree, but I got instead a secretary personal instead. You are a lovely and beautiful soul,  may you rest in peace. Thank you for being the most caring teacher, friend, co-worker, any one could have. 

I met Mrs.  Herrington 32 years ago at Baytown Jr. High.  She was the nicest person anyone could ever want to meet.  She was a mentor for me and helped me become a better teacher/coach while I was at Baytown Jr. High.  She was always positive and put the kids first!  Her smile could light up the room and make everyone happy!  
She made a positive life long impact to many kids!

Anna Beth was a true angel on earth, as I am sure she is now in heaven.  I had the honor of having her as a teacher at Baytown Jr, then later working alongside her while I subbed often at Baytown Jr, then as extended church family at Memorial Baptist for many years, and again as a co-worker at Lee College.  She never changed - always a positive outlook, encouraging words of wisdom to share, and a smile even when she was mad or frustrated.  She was a woman worth listening to as everything she said counted - she made sure it did!  Couldn't help but love her and laugh with her!  She will be missed by many, but her light will forever shine!

Looking back it must have been ~20yrs ago when I was a student in Mrs. Herrington's speech class at Lee College. Wow how time flies! During speech class, Mrs. Harrington was assigning students to stand up in front of the class and read first class speech of the semester. I was so nervous I raised my hand and volunteered to be the first soul to stand awkwardly in front of my new classmates and stumble through my somewhat prepared speech. My thought process at the time was if I present my speech first by the time a few of my fellow classmates followed behind me everyone will forget how bad I did on my class speech. Once Mrs. Harrington was finished assigning the order of student speeches she informed class that she will step out of class for a drink of water and be back in a few minutes for first student to present speech. At that moment the shock hit me like a ton of bricks and I realized there was no turning back now. My body temperature felt like it increased about ~20deg and nerves caused my hands to shake and become clammy. I was in a state of shock and was in need of guidance so I followed Mrs. Harrington when she stepped out of the classroom and proceeded to confess my elevated nervousness and distress I was experiencing. Her response has never left me and to this day I can remember as if it was yesterday. Mrs. Harrington told me "honey if you are not nervous about your speech then I will be nervous when you give your speech". She proceeded to tell me that my feelings were normal and offered me encouragement while building my confidence. After my confidence booster in the hallway, I walked back into class and within 15min was in front of the class presenting my speech. This memory has surfaced multiple times over the past 20yrs and I have been able to share this experience with multiple co-workers and students as a way to encourage others. Mrs. Harrington imparted something in me that will always be with me and I am confident she inspired many others.

It is with a sad heart that we read of Anna Beth's passing. She was such a loving & kind neighbor & colleague.  We shared many laughs & fun times at work & at home. The world lost one of it's angels. Our condolences to Gary & their family.

Mrs. Herrington truly touched  my heart and affected the course of my life while she was a teacher at Baytown Junior School.  She was such a warm, encouraging teacher and a lovely and gracious lady.  My sincere condolences to her family.  The world is a better place for having had Mrs. Herrington in it.

I had the privilege of teaching with AnnaBeth at Baytown Junior for many years. I was an English teacher, and along with theatre arts, AnnaBeth also taught a couple of classes of English. When she retired, I moved from my position as English teacher into her position as theatre arts teacher. She was instrumental in helping me secure that job , I will be forever grateful to her! I knew I had some huge shoes to fill, and AnnaBeth continued to help and mentor me even after she left Baytown Junior. About a year ago, she called and invited me to a "lunch bunch" with several other retired BJS teachers. I am so glad she did~~I had a wonderful time visiting and recalling fun times we all had teaching together. Even though I didn't see her often after we all left BJS, I will always remember and be thankful to her for her help, encouragement, and for generously sharing her expertise with me. My sincere condolences to her family; I know she will be missed by many, including me.

Baytown lost one of its leading ladies.  Anna Beth was a most lovely and gracious person.  One that was dedicated to her church, her family and her friends.  She will be missed!  Prayers for her dear family and all who loved her!

I had the good fortune to teach with Anna Beth at Baytown Junior and to have her as my children’s 8th grade English teacher. One day she very excitedly shared with me that my youngest son Taylor had won the lead in her class play - Little Black Sambo. Now the play itself was wildly inappropriate, and having Sambo played by a white child was an equally bad choice.  The show did not go on. I have laughed so many times telling that story, but tonight my eyes are filled with tears. I am sad knowing that Anna Beth is no longer on this earth but so happy to have her in my heart and my memory. Our love goes to Gary and the family. God bless you all as you mourn this wonderful woman. 

Coach, Thinking of you at this time of loss. Think of you and Coach Thompson often.  The both of you had a strong influence on my life.  I know you will be lost without your best friend, as I will be married 47 years soon.  Don't know what I would do without my Kim. The both of you blessed many lives over time. Anna Beth was an amazing and delightful person.  I had the pleasure of working with Anna Beth at Lee College.  She was a caring instructor and was wonderful with the students.  Anna Beth will be missed.  My thoughts and prayers to the family.

Anna Beth was a very special individual. She taught me Speech at BJH.  I later became a teacher at GCCISD and enjoyed being with her at meetings and on committees.  She was always fun, to be with.  She never met a stranger and she always knew what to do or say, to make others feel at ease.

Coach Herrington and family,

We are so sorry to hear of Anna Beth's passing.  We have fond memories of her taking such good care of our children in the church nursery.  She loved them as if they were her own grandchildren, which was a blessing to us and many other parents and children whose lives she touched.
We are so thankful to have known her.  We are praying that God gives you and your family peace during this difficult time.







Anna Beth was special in many ways.  She and Norma (Elizabeth) shared a particularly close relationship, although that was common among all the cousins!  On my first "real" date with Elizabeth, Anna Beth doubled with a friend of mine from Little Rock.  She was always smiling, always had something to say, and like all the cousins from the Adkins families, she was a wonderful person to know and love!
I am comforted to know that she and Elizabeth are now together and in a better place, enjoying one another and the other saints from that beautiful Adkins family!  We can also take comfort in knowing we will join them one day!  That will be a glorious reunion!

Anna Beth was a dear friend. We enjoyed each other in Vacation Bible School,church fellowships, and on various committees  together. I considered her a dear friend. I mourn her passing and will continue to pray for Gary and the rest of her family.

Mrs. Herrington was such a beautiful, gracious lady. I remember seeing her often at church, and teaching Sunday school with her during my early twenties. I looked forward to seeing her on Sunday mornings - she was such a kind person and she always had just the right thing to say or do. Your family will be in my heart and in my prayers. 

Such a loving, caring soul we lost too soon. She was an amazing speech teacher at Lee College, and an awesome neighbor to have for 20 years. Always smiling and asking how everything is going. Always had a deep passion and care for other people.I have never met someone who just absolutely loved people in general as much as she did. Always socializing with people 24/7  non stop. I had the pleasure of speaking to her right before Thanksgiving in 2020 at Krogers and she was always so caring and asking how my life was and making sure I didn't give up and she was always proud of me and with lots of encouragement and positivity that came from her. Always had some type of advice to give me in life.  You will be sincerely missed. 

So sorry for your loss,Mrs. Herrington taught me in English at the old Baytown Junior High School. She was awesome teacher.My thoughts and prayers for her family.
