Albert was born on April 21, 1934 in Port Lavaca, Texas to Albert and Lela McMullen. On September 25,1952, he married the love of his life, Joy Yvonne Treadway. Together, they raised 4 children, Darrell, Cynthia, Susan, and Timothy.
Albert worked at Houston Lighting & Power for over 35 years until he retired. He was a faithful member of Cedar Bayou Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, usher, and in various other capacities. He enjoyed spending time outdoors with his family hunting and fishing and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of nearly 68 years, Yvonne McMullen; daughters, Cynthia Evans and Susan Freeman and husband, Ray; grandchildren, Zechariah Jahnke and wife, Deborah, Micah Jahnke and wife, Vicki, Lauren McCormick and husband, Robert, Rachel Bigelow and husband, Ryan, Rebecca Freeman; great-grandchildren, Ian Jahnke and Levi McCormick; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his sons Charles Darrell McMullen and Timothy Wayne McMullen, son-in-law, J.A. “Sonny” Evans, parents and eight siblings.
His family will receive friends Thursday, September 17, 2020 starting at 10 a.m. at Cedar Bayou Baptist Church, 3116 N. Alexander Dr., Baytown, TX 77520, with funeral services to follow at 11 a.m. with Dr. E. Richard Steel and Dr. Mark Broussard officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Pall bearers will be Eddie Capps, Rusty Lamb, Tommy Morris, Carl “Bubba” Norris, Ray Watson, and Richard Whitaker, Jr.
