Kathleen McMahon (89) died peacefully at home on February 10, 2017. Kathleen was born in Robeen, Ireland and emigrated to the US in the 1940’s. In pursuit of the American dream, she began a career in real estate in 1973 and eventually owned St. John Realty. She catered to the diverse immigrant population of Queens, helping many customers buy their first home. She had a strong work ethic. Kathleen’s cheerfulness and optimism were infectious.
Kathleen is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Joseph McMahon; their 4 children, Maureen, Sharon, and Brian McMahon and Jennifer Ropiak; son-in-law Ronald Ropiak; 4 grandchildren, Colleen, Katherine and Caroline Narvaez and Benjamin Ropiak; and 2 great-grandchildren, Gavin and Tyler Sholun. Kathleen is predeceased by siblings Michael John, Peter, Thomas, Bridget, May, Eileen, Josephine, and Angela and 4 others who died very young. Kathleen is survived by brothers Vincent, Frank, Brendan, James and Gerald.
