William Lester "Bill" Betts passed away Sunday, September 27, 2015, at the age of 77. He was a retired Vice-President for American Citadel Guard, a native of Cincinnati, Ohio, and a longtime resident of Baton Rouge. Bill was a veteran of the Air Force Reserve for six years during the Cold War. He enjoyed playing golf and spending time with family and friends. Bill is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Theresa Flynn Betts, two daughters and son-in-law, Sheryl Betts and Michelle Samson and her husband, Cliff; as well as five grandchildren, Randy&Brittanie Wallace, Kenneth, Logan and Charles Samson and two great grandchildren, Jayleigh Wallace and Caiden Williams. He was preceded in death by his son, Brian Betts and his parents Esther and Lester Betts as well as many numerous aunts and uncles. Pallbearers will be Remi Brignac, Cliff, Kenneth, Logan and Charles Samson, and Randy Wallace. Visitation will be Thursday, October 1st, at Rabenhorst East Funeral Home, 11000 Florida Blvd., from 5 to 9 pm. Visitation will resume Friday morning, October 2nd at 9 am until service at 11 am in the funeral home chapel, Interment to follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park.
