Victoria “Vicki” Naquin’s life began in Springhill, LA on September 5th, 1948. Her journey in this world ended on June 25th, 2022, at her home in Baton Rouge surrounded by her loving family. Because of her father’s career in the oil industry, she had the opportunity to live in Libya and attend school in Rome during her teen years. In addition to her teen years, during her adult life she had the opportunity to live in Germany and travel Europe because of her husband’s military career. Vicki always put other people first and was polite to a fault. She was a voracious reader and could consume a book or two during a one-day period. This means that our local Barnes and Nobles’ monthly revenue will be impacted significantly because of our loss. She enjoyed spending time with her family and spent every opportunity she could attending their many life events. Her hobbies included spending time working in her yard, gardening with her grandson Chase, getting pampered and lunching with her granddaughter Ashlyn, and decorating – not just refurnishing and painting the rooms of her home but to celebrate every holiday and special event marked in her always full calendar. Vicki was never one to turn down spending time with her wonderful friends either over a game of Po-Ke-No, her book club or her lunch bunch – ladies, you know who you are. And let’s not forget her collection of nutcrackers and Santa Clauses, started during her and Linton’s time living in Germany which celebrate many family milestones to be reminded of during the holidays.
Vicki is preceded in death by her son Linton “Trey” Naquin III, her brother Ronny Weible and her parents R.D. and Francille Weible. She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Linton J. Naquin, Jr., daughter, Kimberly Neucere and her husband Joe, son, Jeffery and his wife Dana. She is also survived by her adoring grandchildren Ashlyn and Chase Neucere. She always loved dogs and is no doubt happy to be reunited with her past pups. She leaves behind her current dog, Theo, and four grandpuppies, Aries, Daisy, Bruce and Louisa. In addition to her immediate family, she is also survived by her Aunt Billie and Uncle Dick Osborne, cousins and friends who loved her and will miss her very much. The family also wants to thank the numerous and tremendous friends and caregivers for their amazing support in Vicki’s final days – Lydia, Mary, Jolene, Nancy, Dana, Dr. LaVie, Noel, and Jackie.
Visitation will be this Friday July 1st at St. Aloysius from 9:30 – 11:00 am with a mass immediately following. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the following charities, Capital Area Animal Welfare Society (CAAWS) [6357 Quinn Dr, Baton Rouge, LA 70817 (https://caaws.org/animal-shelter-donations/)] and O’Brien House of Baton Rouge [1231 Laurel St, Baton Rouge, LA 70802 (https://obrienhouse.org/donate/)].
