Victor Sanchez

Victor Sanchez, resident of Geismar, Louisiana, passed away on January 30, 2024, at the age of 79. Victor was born and raised in Sunshine, Louisiana, and graduated from St. Gabriel High School in 1962. In 1965, he married Rita Wright. Victor was an Operator and then Supervisor for Allied, Union Texas Petroleum in Geismar. He is survived by his wife, Rita Wright Sanchez; children, Michael (April) of New Orleans, Kevin (Dawn) of Central, Melissa (Narce) of Geismar/Jayess, MS; grandchildren, Andrew (Sammy), Austin (Bayli), Tyler, Abby, Meghan, and Alexandra; great-grandchildren, Davis, Easton, Harper; sisters, Ann Parker and Frances Piper; sister/brothers-in-laws, Mary Ray (Phil), Morris Wright (Annette), Andy Wright (Lisa), and former daughter-in-law, Chantelle, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest Sanchez and Elma Gregoire Sanchez; siblings, Jr. (Helen), M.J. (Vivian), L.P. (Frances), Lester (Vernita), Teta (Peter), Sr. Rose Mary, Agnes (Ralph), Put (Ruby), and brothers-in-law, Greg Wright, Walter Parker, and Marion Piper. Pallbearers will be his male godchildren, Jeff, Son, Les, and Jr., grandson Andrew, and nephew Will. Honorary pallbearers will be his godchildren, Kassie Wright and Ed Loupe, grandson, Austin, Andy Wright, Phil Ray, and Morris Wright. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Victor's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, St. John's Help Fund, or Manresa Retreat House. Visitation will be held at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church on Saturday, February 3, 2024 from 9am until Mass at 11:30. Burial will follow at Hope Haven Garden of Memory in Prairieville. Rabenhorst Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
