Tom was born on August 4, 1944 in Haddonfield, NJ, to Dr. Morris and Lorraine Clark, where he spent his childhood playing sports and spending summers on the Jersey shore.
College years were a great adventure for Tom. He traveled coast to coast and tested out a few universities before eventually graduating from LSU. This Yankee’s path to Louisiana began when he met his wife, Virgie, during Mardi Gras in New Orleans, and they settled in her home state of Louisiana.
Tom spent his early career as a CPA with LA Champagne. His next career move led him to Piccadilly, where he was the CFO. Tom’s entrepreneur spirit was unquenchable, and he spent the majority of the last 30 years operating multiple car care centers throughout the greater Baton Rouge area.
Most of Tom’s free time was spent with his children, church, and hobbies. Tom and Virgie have been members of Parkview Baptist for nearly 50 years and have been a part of the same couples’ Bible study for much of that duration. Tom was an avid golfer, fan of LSU football, and enjoyed debates on politics and current events.
Tom is survived by his wife, Virgie Joiner Clark; daughter, Victoria Firor and her husband Brandon, of Fulshear, TX; Gregory Clark, Jonathan and wife Judice Clark, and Michael Clark, all residing in Baton Rouge; brother Jeff and his wife Mary Clark; sister Nancy Obeck and husband Craig; sister Lynne Bromley and husband Bill; grandchildren Mollie Elizabeth Firor, Charlton Edward Firor, Owen Thomas Firor, John Thomas Clark, and Pearce Joseph Clark.
