Thomas Jerry Daigle, born July 22, 1929, a native of Lafayette and a resident of Baton Rouge died peacefully at home on December 14. He attended the Sorbonne in Paris and was a graduate of Southwestern Louisiana Institute and Louisiana State University. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War.
His teaching career in foreign languages spanned more than forty years during which he taught at Texas A&M, Montana State University, the Virginia Military Institute, and Nicholls State University.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lubin Joseph Daigle and Louise Kathleen Hogan Daigle; a sister Kathleen Daigle Junot; and sister-in-law, Joyce Thompson Daigle. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Anne; brother, Ralph; daughters Claire and Elaine (husband Robert); sons, Kenneth and Christopher; grandsons, Logan (wife Whitney) and Nicholas (wife April); and great-grandsons, Graham, Dawson, and Tate.
He always took care of all of us.
Visiting hours will be observed on Monday, December 19, 2016 from 5pm to 8pm at Greenoaks Funeral Home, Baton Rouge, LA. A Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at 11:30am at St. Louis Cemetery Number 3, 3421 Esplanade Ave, New Orleans, LA 70119.
