Visitation will take place at Greenoaks Memorial Park, Baton Rouge, LA on June 14th from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m. with service to follow.
Thomas D. Burbank, Jr., was born December 10, 1948 in Shreveport, LA, the son of Brigadier General Thomas D. Burbank, Sr. and Jeanne Burbank. He attended Broadmoor High School in Baton Rouge, McNeese State University, and the LSU School of Banking. He was a member of the McNeese collegiate golf team while earning a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. He served as former Vice President of National American Bank in New Orleans, First Assistant State Treasurer, State Treasurer, Director of the State Bond Commission with the State of Louisiana Department of the Treasury. He also served as former Executive Director of the LA State Employees Retirement System, Administrator of the National Association State Retirement Systems, Investment Banker and Consultant for Callan Associates and Stephens Inc., Undersecretary of Management and Finance with the LA Department of Veterans Affairs, and Chief Administrative Officer of the Iberia Parish Government.
He is survived by his three children, Thomas Burbank, III (Trey) and wife Leslie of Baton Rouge, LA, Jonathan Burbank, D.D.S. and wife Fran of Lafayette, LA, and Alison Dominick and husband Donald of Baton Rouge, LA; two sisters Jeanne Eubanks and husband Joe, and Linda Sweat and husband Mike; and 4 grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his father and mother, Thomas Burbank, Sr, and Jeanne Burbank.
He was a founding member of the board helping to create The Boys and Girls Club in Baton Rouge. Burbank was a former Shriner and a former 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason.
