Thomas O'Connor Blakeney Jr. of Baton Rouge LA passed away peacefully at his residence on November 3, 2023 after a short battle with lung cancer. Born May 5, 1942 he was 81 years old. He is preceded in death by his parents, Col. Thomas O'Connor Blakeney Sr., and Mary Pearl "Girlie" Carville Blakeney. He is survived by his loving, devoted wife of 57 years Patricia Anne Vanderburg Blakeney, daughter Michelle Blakeney Myers her husband Davin Myers and two grandchildren O'Connor Myers and Julia Myers. He is also survived by his brothers Michael, Connor and Dan and his sister Kathy their spouses, and 9 nieces and nephews and many cousins. He was born in Brownwood, TX and lived all over the world and US as his father was an Army officer during WWII. Dad was an Army Veteran and was a member of the American Legion. He worked the majority of his life with the McDonald's Corp. performing many roles over the years. After he retired from McDonald's he was in sales for Volvo of BR and was a top salesman for them, earning top salesman for the whole country in 2007. After fully retiring he was a volunteer at the main branch of the Public Library for 7 years. He will be missed by many both family and friends. Services will be held on Friday, Nov. 10th at the Government St. location of Rabenhorst Funeral Home in BR. Viewing from 9-11AM and service at same location immediately following 11AM-12PM. It was his desire to be cremated so there will be no graveside service. In lieu of flowers please make a donation in his name to St. Jude.
