A retired Shell Chemical Co. employee with 36 years of service and a resident of Baton Rouge, he died at 2:03 p.m. Saturday, May 30, 2009, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. He was 77, a native of Gramercy and served in the U.S. Air Force as a lieutenant during the Korean War. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Wednesday, June 3, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visiting resumes in the funeral home chapel on Thursday from 10 a.m. until religious service at 11 a.m. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Survived by his two sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas J. Jr. and Stacey Arceneaux, of Pensacola, Fla., and Terry J. and Debbie Arceneaux, of Baton Rouge; brother, Arthur J. Arceneaux Jr., of Harahan; grandchildren, Alexis, Tyler and Alyssa Arceneaux, all of Baton Rouge; and stepgrandchildren, Richard and Cassandra Keller, both of Pensacola. He was dedicated to his family, in particular his grandchildren, as he cared for them after school. Preceded in death by his wife Linda Louise Arceneaux; parents, Arthur J. Sr. and Mary B. Arceneaux; and sister, Marie A. Allen. Special thanks to Skip Allen, Annette Zimmer and John Davis for their help and support during his illness. He received a degree in chemical engineering from LSU.
