Theresa L. Betts

Betts, Theresa LuVern Flynn passed away Monday, August 14, 2023, at the age of 84. She was a retired Office Manager for American Citadel Guard, a native of Cincinnati, Ohio, and a longtime resident of Baton Rouge. Theresa was an angel on Earth as she was a phenomenal caregiver to her son, Brian after a spinal cord injury that left him paralyzed and to her husband, Bill after being diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. Not only did she dedicate her life to them, but anytime her daughters or grandchildren needed her she was always there for them.

Theresa is survived by her two daughters and son-in-law, Sheryl A. Betts and Michelle Samson and her husband Cliff; as well as five grandchildren and two daughters-in-law, Randy and Jodie Wallace, Kenneth and Pamela Samson, Brittanie Wallace, Logan Samson and Charles Samson III; and seven great grandchildren, Jayleigh, Preston, Peyton, Paige, Caiden, Kenneth Charles and Bennett. She is also survived by her sister and brothers and their spouses; Roccina and Tom Niehaus, Mike and Judy Flynn, and Rocco Stellatano. Theresa was preceded in death by her son, Brian and her husband William as well as her father, Ralph Flynn and mother Rose and step-father Rocco.

Pallbearers will be Randy Wallace, Kenneth, Logan, Charles and Cliff Samson, and Remi Brignac. Honorary pallbearers are Mike Flynn, Rocco Stellatano, and Tom Niehaus.

Visitation will be held Thursday, August 17th, at Rabenhorst East Funeral Home, 11000 Florida Blvd from 5-8 pm. Visitation will resume Friday morning, August 18th at 9 am until service at 10 am in the funeral home chapel. Interment to follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital as Theresa was a longtime supporter of this charity.
