Steve passed away on Saturday, April 30, 2022, at the age of 68. Born in Evansville, IN, Steve spent his early years in Oklahoma City before moving to Houston for the bulk of his childhood. His family moved to New Orleans, just prior to his senior year of high school, where he graduated from John F. Kennedy High School in 1972. After graduation, Steve moved to Baton Rouge, where he would find his permanent home, to attend LSU in the fall. In 1987, Steve would meet the love of his life, Susan, marrying her in 1990, and later having two children, Alex and Katie Rose. Being a father was Steve's greatest joy in life and without a doubt his greatest strength. He loved his children more than anything and proved so everyday. We will remember Steve as a kind, gentle, and genuine soul who never met a stranger. Steve is survived by his wife, Susan, children, Alex and Katie Rose, sisters Sharon Conry and Janet Davis, mother, Rosamond, mother-in-law, June Clayton, son-in-law, Cordell McDaniel, grandson, Grayson McDaniel, and countless friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Jack Liggett, and father-in-law, Thomas Clayton. A memorial and celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 7th from 2:00-5:00pm at Bistro Byronz on Government Street. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your charity of choice. Finally, the family would like to thank everyone who knew and loved Steve, for making his time on Earth so fulfilled and unforgettable.
