a resident of Baton Rouge, LA and a native of St. Martinsville, LA passed away at The Carpenter House at the age of 88 on Saturday February 04, 2012. Stella was a motorette on the St. Charles Street car line in New Orleans during the World War II. She is retired from the Louisiana Department of Motor Vehicles. Visitation will be at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Monday February 6, 2012 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm visitation will resume on Tuesday February 7, 2012 at the funeral home from 9:00 am until funeral services in the funeral home chapel at 10:00 am interment will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park. She is survived by two daughters Dodie Irwin and husband Emmett and Mary Kay Whitehead and husband Al; one son Edward “EB” Bernhard and wife Sherry; one sister Shirley Mayfield; one brother Grover “Boy” Leblanc; grandchildren Becky Baker and husband Eddie, Sandi Bourque and husband Brad, Amy Ruth and husband Tim, Jessica Whitehead Landaiche, Jodi Tickle and husband Ben and Bret Whitehead. She is also survived by 10 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Henry Bernhard, her parents Bruce and Alma LeBlanc, sisters Lena Ercanbrack, Terry Labbe and Joan Sullivan and brother Donald LeBlanc.
