“Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn.”
Shelia Bullock Davis Adams passed away on February 9, 2023 after struggling to recover from congestive heart failure for several months just short of her 76th birthday, February 19, 1947.
After graduating from Glen Oaks in 1965 she pursued a job as a secretary for legal firms in New Orleans and Baton Rouge. In 1971, she answered an ad from Hebert/Keely/Root. After an hour interview they told her she had the job and asked if she had any questions for them. Just one she replied, “What kind of law firm are y’all?” And that’s how she began a long career in advertising eventually running her own ad agency. Her clients loved her, and she loved them, but as the years passed, she wanted to do something different. She said goodbye to the ad business and began another successful career in real estate before retiring in 2018.
Shelia was successful in any endeavor in which she chose to participate. She was genuinely nice and treated everyone with fairness and respect. People loved her honesty, quick wit, and thoughtful responses to their questions. She was truly a beautiful person inside and out. She loved and was loved. She will undoubtedly be missed but forever remembered.
Survived by her husband, Ken Adams; previous husband, Donnie Davis; son, Shad Davis; daughter, Kyla Watson (Bobby); sister, Lou Young; brother-in-law, Chris Adams (Bobbye); grandchildren, Mason Watson and Madeline Watson, and many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her parents, Ila and Rita Bullock; brother, Shirl Arnold Bullock; and brother-in-law Ray Young.
