

A resident of Central, Sharon Mix Theriot died Thursday, Feb. 3, 2011, at age 62. She was retired with the Department of Labor as the worker's compensation fraud supervisor for 36 years. She attended St. Gerard Majella and Redemptorist Catholic High School under the guidance of the School Sisters of Notre Dame and Redemptorist Priests. She was a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church. She was a member of the Ladies Altar Society, Catholic Daughters and the La Tea Dolls Tea Group and was blessed to be a school Sisters of Notre Dame Associate. She was also a member of the Manna Group for the Bishop Ott Women's and Children's Shelter. She was a wonderful cook who loved to share with family and friends. Sharon is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Ferdinand "Ferd" Theriot; daughter, Cherié Theriot Hardin and husband David; grandson, Dillon Wayne Smiley; sister, Kermit Mix Richard and husband Joe; sister-in-law, Pat Duhe and husband Gary; brothers-in-law, Gerard Theriot, Bob Theriot and wife Clara, and Pete Perot; nieces, Shannon Duhe Traylor, Rosalind Richard Willard and Rachelle Richard; and nephews, Gary Duhe Jr., Robbie Theriot, Jason Theriot and Brody Britt. She was preceded in death by her parents, Kermit Thomas and Dorothy Whitehead Mix; sister, Diana "Bootsie" Perot; and niece, Jeanné Britt White. Visitation at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church on Monday, Feb. 7, from 10 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at noon, celebrated by the Rev. Maloney and Deacon Phillip Bejeaux. Burial in Greenoaks Memorial Park, followed by a reception at the Reception Center at Greenoaks. Pallbearers will be Dillon Smiley, David Hardin, Sam Willard, Gerard Theriot, Brody Britt and Joe Richard. She loved her family and friends, especially her "sweet boy from Heaven," Dillon, who brought her so much joy. A special thanks to Dr. Gerald Miletello and staff, faithful friend Tara Bishop, Prayer Warrior Charlotte Guerin, and the wonderful care of Cancer Center at Baton Rouge General Medical Center-Bluebonnet.
