Scott Allen Thompson

John 3:16.Scott Allen Thompson passed away on Thursday, March 6 at the age of 31. Scott is survived by his loving and devoted mother Charyl Major Thompson and loving and devoted father Edwin Buddy Thompson and his precious son, Preston Scott Thompson, age five; twin brother, Brent Lyles Thompson and younger brother Jeffrey Phillip Thompson. Scott is fondly remembered by his aunts and uncles Ledie and Wayles Bradley, Carolyn and Rufus Holt Craig, Rich and Claire Major, Evie and Greg Dodge, and John P. Thompson, all of Baton Rouge and Nancy and Robert Burdge of Pagosa Springs, CO. Scott will be greatly missed by his cousins Olivia and Baker Bradley, Whitney and Alex Major and Brittany and Taylor Dodge.Scott is predeceased by his maternal grandparents Allen Richard Major and Ella'D O'Rillion Major and his paternal grandparents Edwin Lyles Thompson and Dorothy Phillips Thompson. Scott was born in Baton Rouge, LA on August 5, 1982. He attended Bishop Sullivan High School, worked as a Safety Supervisor at Jacobs Engineering; he had a heart for God and worshiped at Healing Place Church. Scott enjoyed spending time with his son, Preston, fishing, playing at the park and playing Wii. He also enjoyed cooking for family and friends. He was a loving father devoting time to Preston teaching him to appreciate life and a love for God. Scott was an amazing son and a great brother with a huge and generous heart.In the presence of God there is peace.Visitation will be held at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Boulevard, on Sunday, March 9th from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue at Healing Place Church (Annex), 19202 Highland Rd, on Monday, March 10th from 10:30 am until religious services at 11:30 am. Interment to follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park, 9595 Florida Boulevard. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Scott's name to Healing Place Church.
