Sandra Heyl Newell

Her life was filled with the love of God and the love of people. Her legacy of sacrifice, compassion and sass will continue in the lives of those who love her. Sandy is survived by husband of 56 years, Miles Ralph Newell, Jr.; children, Todd Anderson Newell (Scarlett) and Criste Newell Carnegie; grandchildren, Tyler Newell and Kristyn Berry (Cody) and Jay Carnegie (Anna); great-grandchildren, Gabe, Annie, James Russell, Emmie, and Millie; brother, Thomas Heyl (Dawn); faithful and furry companion, Duey; and a host of other family members and friends. Sandy is preceded in death by her parents, Cleveland George Heyl, Jr. and Ona Anderson Heyl; brother, Cleveland “Sonny” George Heyl, III; and parents-in-law, Miles Ralph Newell and Jose Conerly Newell. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA, on Friday, January 27, 2023, from 11am until the time of funeral services at 2pm.
