Sam Bass

Sam Bass III, loving husband and father, passed away at home Sunday, February 14, 2016. He was 76 years of age. He was born in New Orleans on October 10, 1939. He was a graduate of Baton Rouge High School Class of 1958 and received a bachelor's degree from Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond. He retired from Exxon after 30 years of service. Sam was a long time active member of the Catholic High School Men's Club and an LSU Softball Diamond Backer. Preceded in death by his parents, Clemence and Sam Bass Jr. He is survived by his wife Lynda Gail Bass and 2 sons Bryan and Jason and grandson Mason, two brothers John Patrick Bass and Michael James Bass. Services at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St., Thursday, February 18, 2016, with visitation beginning at 3:00 pm and Memorial service at 5:00 pm conducted by Brother Ray Hebert, S.C. Private interment will be Friday, February 19, 2016. In lieu of flowers, please make a denotation to Catholic High School, 855 Hearthstone Dr., Baton Rouge, LA 70806, or the charity of your choice .
