Wick was always wonderful to be around. At work or play.  A dedicated professional who took great pride in his work. One of the best fishing pardners to be had. He will be remembered with admiration.

Wick's family,
Wick was a co-worker at Shell Chemical, which is where I met him.  He lived just around the corner from us in Sherwood Forest.  He was so friendly and helpful whenever he could be, and I took advantage of his friendship and knowledge in many ways.  He taught me how to change brakes shoes on a car, and even lent me his tools.  He taught me how to check the timing and lent me his time.  When I took up woodworking after I retired, he was my guru, especially with the lathe.  I consulted with him many times, and enjoyed having coffee with him and Betty.  He was a superior human being and a caring and sensitive person.  I will miss him and Betty.

I first met wick in 1975.  He  was one of my first bosses at shell.  We worked together for about 10 years.  He was a great mentor.  Wick was always available to answer questions about work,  cars, woodworking or anything else you had on your mind.  I will always cherish the friendship we shared.  Our prayers go out to the family and other friends.  Wick touched so many lives.  He will be missed.

Wick was a great help to me since I had first shown up at work at the Shell Geismar plant.   He also helped me get my start in woodworking out in the shop.   One year we made Wine Glass racks for me to give as Christmas Presents.   Another time we made a Cypress Table top for an outdoor project.   I now how my onw wood shop partly due to his willingness to get me started.  He was always helpful, ready to ask questions to make you think but also willing to let you try things on your own.   He touched many of us in many ways.

I worked with Wick for over 30 years. As a person, Wick was always kind, friendly, and straightforward.   As an engineer, Wick relished the technical details of every problem he dealt with, but he always came up with practical solutions. His style and knowledge allowed him to mentor many people over the years. In the many dozens of discussions we had in his office, I shall remember that never once did a discussion end that I had not learned something. Wick was a delightful person who left his mark on many people at Shell.

Wick was one of my supervisors in the early 80's while working as a pressure systems inspector in the Geismar Plant.  He was always there to support and mentor the inspectors working for him. Wick was a great person and a great boss. He will be missed.

Over 40 years ago, a fishing group of about 10 Shell colleagues was started and Wick was a dedicated member. This "Bass & Booze Federation" organization met each year on Toledo Bend Lake for a week of fishing and friendship. Wick is remembered for his friendliness, charm,and sportsmanship and was at the center of many fishing incidents. This organization, now 15 fisherman, continues today, 43rd year, and stories involving Wick still surface. He will be remembered at our 2012 outing. God Bless.

Family reunions - many when we were youngsters - only one in 2002 since we grew up  - seeing Wick and his family sporting the Lambert tee shirts - thanks to Rusty and Cabby I have one as well - I think of Wick and all of you each time I wear it proudly!  He loved those granddaughters and sent me pictures often.  He shared his strict diet with me so I could commiserate with him - a man who wasn't allowed to eat baked beans -outrageous!  We are so fortunate to have been a part of Wick's life and will cherish our memories. He was a courageous loving man, and I quote him, "The Lord has taken another good one!"  Bless those he left behind.  Cry tears of JOY for the pleasure and love he gave you.

Wick, with age come remembering and I remember you as that wild little boy when we five older cousins played together as kids and I remember that cool high school student that I admired.  Jim has reminded me at times that he knew you, Nard, David, Jenne, Aunt Mildred and Uncle Rusty before he knew me since he had worked on your TVs.  I know you had many friends and family members who will miss you - I know I will certainly miss the e-mails we have passed back and forth for years.  Your loving Cuz...........

Rusty;  I remember your dad as a classmate at U of L who was an all-around nice guy and a good student.   He was well regarded by everybody.   After graduation in 1960 we all went our separate ways in in pursuit of family and career and it was nice to reestablish contact after 50-years.  Wick will be sorely missed by everybody. Rusty and family, I am not sure if we ever met, but Wick and I have the same Aunt. Aunt Evelyn Long Hills, we were just on different sides of the family. I also was in Wick's class at Southern and ran around with many of his friends. I talked with him on the phone about five years ago and knew he was not well. My sincere condolences go out to your family and you are in my prayers.

Rusty and family, and Lynette, Wick and I go back more than 50 years, when we were at U of L. It has been a blessing to have had these few visits over the years, and especially the last one lasting a whole 3 weeks. I believe that it was meant to be for all of our Ratpack to be together to say good bye. You are all in my prayers for the great loss that you are experiencing.

Rusty, Wick and his family have meant very much to my family for most of my life. He was one of a kind and found it easy to be liked by everyone. He will be a large loss to our Rat Pack of old friends and I will miss him greatly!

Wick's family...I attended U of L with Wick and hadn't seen him since 1960. We only recently re-established contact (email) and were able to exchange memories of early experiences in Louisville.  I'm glad we had that opportunity.  Wishing you all the very best...Al Near...Coeur d'Alene, Idaho
