

A loving Grandfather, Father, Brother, Cousin and Friend died Friday, March 16, 2012, at the age of 74 with his family by his side in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He was born September 28, 1937, to Russell Sr. and Mildred Long Lambert in Louisville, Kentucky. Wick attended Southern High School and graduated as a member of the class of 1955. He then joined the Speed School of Engineering at the University of Louisville graduating the 5 year program as a Mechanical Engineer. Wick went to work for Shell Oil Company which subsequently brought him to Baton Rouge where he retired after more than 30 years of service. He is survived by a son, Russell W Lambert III "Rusty" and his wife Cathrine Beveridge Lambert; granddaughters, Jean Marie and Emma Catherine Lambert; brothers, David & Nard Lambert and sister, Jenne Fay of Louisville, Kentucky; and a number of close cousins and relatives. Wick was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Betty Jean Bevars Lambert, and daughter, Jill Lena Lambert. Wick was always a man who felt that he needed to give back to his friends and the community for all that he received. As such, he was an active member of the Capital City Lions Club serving in a number of positions and receiving a number of awards which are not limited to serving as President, District Governor, and being recognized as a Melvin Jones Fellow by Lions Club International. He was also loved and well regarded by his close group of friends the "RAT PACK". He was passionate about woodworking and loved hunting and fishing. He had a true love for his family, friends and his dogs. He will be missed, honored and loved. God bless you "Pawpaw" and rest in peace.
