Ruby Lee Oliphant Williams was born March 27, 1930 in St. Joseph, LA, to Carrie Lee Hornsby Oliphant and Sidney Oliphant. She passed away at her home in Baton Rouge, LA on October 9, 2022, at the age of 92. She graduated from Bastrop High School in 1947, and had resided in Baton Rouge since 1948. She was employed by the EBRPSB from 1967 – 1995 at Istrouma High School and Tara High School. She taught Sunday school and Children’s Church for 50 years at Ingleside United Methodist Church and Magnolia United Methodist Church. She was formerly a member at Broadmoor United Methodist Church and was a current member at Ingleside United Methodist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Keith Williams, whom she married at First United Methodist Church in Bastrop, LA on August 8, 1948. She is also preceded in death by her parents; sister, Bertha Estelle Oliphant Jones; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Richard Harry and Anita Pratt Williams; brother, Sidney C. Oliphant, Jr.; grandson, Ben A. Curry; and niece, Joni Jones Canatella. She is survived by two sons: Keith Todd Williams of Watson, LA and Jay Harry Williams and wife Paula of Blacksburg, VA; and daughter, Erin Lee Williams Curry of Zachary, LA. She is also survived by her granddaughter, Hannah Lee Curry and husband Dave Anderson of Blacksburg, VA; four grandsons: Casey Keith Williams and wife Lauren of Central, LA, Jeremy Robert Williams of Miami, FL, Mitchell Hill Williams of Blacksburg, VA, and Joseph Earl Magnolia of Walker, LA; great-grandson, Carter Keith Williams of Central, LA; seven nieces and nephews; as well as nine grand-nieces and nephews and seven great-grand nieces and nephews. Visitation will be on Saturday, October 15, 2022, at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd, from 10am until funeral service at 12pm. Entombment will be private at Greenoaks Memorial Park Mausoleum.
