Monjure, Rosemary MarionBorn in New Orleans and living in Baton Rouge since 2005, Rosemary Marion Monjure died at home on Monday, August 31, 2015. A retired high school English teacher at St. Joseph Academy, New Orleans and Mount Carmel Academy, New Orleans, many of her former students remarked that Ms. Monjure was the best teacher they ever had. She is survived by her sister, Carmen A. Monjure; brother-in-law, John Tauzy; nieces and nephews, Robert Monjure (Nelda) of Montgomery, TX, JoAnn Monjure of Baton Rouge, Steven Monjure of High Point, NC, Denise Tauzy of Schriever, LA, Mary Lynn Soniat (Brian) of Dallas, TX, Jeanne de Montluzin (James) of Kenner, LA and David Tauzy of Houston, TX; great-nieces, a great-nephew and a great-great-nephew. Rosemary was preceded in death by her parents, Angelo A. Monjure and Camille Margavio Monjure; sister, Antoinette M. Tauzy; and brother, Joseph A. Monjure. She was a graduate of Sophie B. Wright High School, New Orleans and Loyola University of New Orleans. Rosemary loved animals, especially dogs and cats. She loved her cat, Joey, calling him "pretty boy". In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Louisiana SPCA, 1700 Mardi Gras Blvd, New Orleans, LA 70114, American Heart Association, Gift Processing Center, P. O. Box 78851, Phoenix, AZ 85062-8851 or to a charity of your choice. Visitation at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 11441 Goodwood Blvd, Baton Rouge 70815 on Friday, Sept. 4, 2015 from 10am until Mass of Christian Burial at 11am celebrated by Rev. Tom Duhé. Inurnment will follow at 1:30 pm, Friday, in the family tomb in Metairie Cemetery, New Orleans.
