"Rosemary passed away on May 1, 2017. Known as Rosie to many, she was born in Bay St. Louis, Mississippi on November 11, 1950. She attended the University of Mississippi and after raising her young children worked for the federal government, for many years at The Hanson's Disease Center. After retiring Rosie enjoyed traveling and spending time with her grandchildren. She loved her family, her God, and her country, and she was always willing to give of herself to them and all others in need. She is predeceased by her mother, Rosemary Rollins McFarland and her brother Wesley McFarland, Jr. She is survived by her father, Dr. Wesley McFarland, sisters, Sarah Dale Leopold and Margo Keel, daughter, Celeste Pierce (Randy) and son, Dylan Hauge, grandchildren, Clayton Kavanaugh, Trent Kavanaugh, Rollins Pierce, Hunter Hauge-Martin, Madison Hauge, Brennan Hauge, great aunt, Alicia Ellis and many cousins. Visitation will be at Aldrich Chapel of First United Methodist Church, 930 North Boulevard, Monday, May 8, 2017, from 10 am until religious services at 11 am conducted by Rev. Becky Poor. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Rosemary's memory to Crisis Intervention Center, 4837 Revere Avenue, Baton Rouge, LA 70808.
