Ronald "Ronnie" C. LeBlanc Sr. passed away at his home Friday, April 15, 2011, at the age of 74 after a lengthy battle with pancreatic cancer. Ronnie was a resident of Baton Rouge and a retired senior electrical engineer at Exxon. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Jody Braud LeBlanc; son, Ron Jr.; two daughters, Shelly LeBlanc Wall and Nicole LeBlanc Yates; son-in-law, Jeff Yates; and four grandchildren, Jenson and Brennan Wall, and Bailey and McKenzie Yates. Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents, Leopold and Hilda LeBlanc. The youngest of 11 children, he was preceded in death by brothers, Louis, Norman, L.J. and Mervin, and sisters, Pearl LeBlanc Becnel, Maisy LeBlanc Vernon and Leola LeBlanc. Survived by his brothers and their spouses, Pete and Sheila LeBlanc, of Redlands, Calif., Neal and Elaine LeBlanc, of Shreveport, and Durel and Marie LeBlanc, of Destrehan; numerous nieces and nephews; and sisters-in-law, Joy Bodin and Glirma Babin. Ronnie was a graduate of Destrehan High School and attended LSU. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a charter member of St. Jean Vianney Church and an active member of St. Jean's Social Responsibility Committee. Pallbearers will be Neal LeBlanc, Pete LeBlanc, Ron LeBlanc, Brennan Wall, Jenson Wall, Kenny Wall and Jeff Yates. Honorary pallbearer is Durel LeBlanc. Many thanks to Kathleen Bosch for her loving support to our family during this time and also to the Rev. Tom Ranzino and Priscilla Mire of St. Jean Vianney; and the nurses, aides and sitters of Hospice of Baton Rouge and Eldercare who were so helpful in his care. Memorial donations may be made in Ronald's name to Hospice of Baton Rouge, 9063 Siegen Lane, Suite A, Baton Rouge, LA 70810. Visitation at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Sunday, April 17, was from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., with the recitation of the rosary. Visitation will resume at St. Jean Vianney Catholic Church on Monday, April 18, from 9:30 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m., with the Rev. Thomas Ranzino, celebrant. Interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park.
