Robert Vernon Poe, Jr., age 74, passed away Monday morning, November 15, 2021. He was a native of Corpus Christi, Texas where he graduated from W.B. Ray High School. He joined the Army and spent his service time in Germany. He then earned two degrees from the University of Texas, Austin, one in Art and another in Home Economics (Interior Design). Robert moved to Baton Rouge and began his life’s work at Frost-Barber, Inc. In his career at Frost-Barber, Robert was instrumental in providing excellent service and detail to all of his customers. He was a devoted Catholic and a faithful parishioner at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church where he and his wife were Committed Adorers and Eucharistic Ministers, and his son served as an altar server for eleven years. He is survived by his wife Patricia Murphy, his son Robert Andrew Poe, his daughter-in-law Danielle Hartman, his granddaughter Oaklyn Rae Poe, his sister Tina Turilli, his aunt Lori Moore and many beloved nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church on Thursday November 18, 2021 with visitation at 1:30 p.m. until Mass at 2:30 p.m. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
