A retired senior process engineer for BASF Corp., a native of Reserve and resident of Baton Rouge, he passed away Wednesday, June 22, 2011, at The Carpenter House of St. Joseph Hospice after a battle with mesotheloma cancer. He was 76. Visitation Friday, June 24, at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St., was from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Visitation will resume at St. Aloysius Catholic Church on Saturday, June 25, from 9 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Entombment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Survived by his wife of 51 years, Judy Cancienne; daughters, Elizabeth Thibodeaux and husband Kerry, Cathy Miller and husband Bill; son, Ken Cancienne and wife Sarah; grandchildren, Alyson and Lauren Cancienne, Andrew Thibodeaux and Sam Miller; sisters, Rosalie Terrio, Amy Troxler and Susie Wilson; brother, George Cancienne; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was a 1957 LSU graduate and devoted member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church. Bob was a very loving husband and father. He was also a committed volunteer at St. Aloysius and in his community. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Services or to a charity of choice.
