Robert "Bob" E. Beard, Sr.

Robert ""Bob"" Edwin Beard, Sr., a resident of Baton Rouge, passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home on Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at the age of 84. He was a Korean War Veteran with the United States Marine Corps. He retired after 38 years of service with Frito-Lay. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Bob is survived by his soulmate of 61 years, Rose ""Bubbles"" Stevens; one son, Ronald ""Ronnie"" E. Beard and his wife, Laura Curry Beard; two daughters, Rhonda Beard McClure and Renee Elise Beard; daughter-in-law, Velvet Beard-Balwanz; 13 grandchildren, Robert ""Robbie"" Edwin Beard, III and Allison Beard, Nicole Velvet Beard, Christopher Shawn Beard, Brandi Desha Beard, Beatrice May Beard, Scott and Amanda Powell, Jenifer Rose McClure, Shelby Renee Beard, Chris and Angella Clark, and Frank Coronna; and 9 great-grandchildren. He has taken his place in heaven with his mother, Tempie Aurelia Stewart Beard, his father, Samuel Francis Beard; his oldest son, Robert ""Rusty"" Edwin Beard, Jr, and his great-grandson, Rusty Allen Beard. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Sunday, July 24, 2016 from 3 p.m. until 9 p.m. Visitation will continue on Monday, July 25, 2016 from 9 a.m. until Funeral Service at 10 a.m. Interment will be held at Louisiana National Cemetery on Monday, July 25, 2016 at 12:30 p.m. Honorary pallbearers will be his grandsons Robbie, Christopher, Frank, and family friends Howard Rome, Skip and Pam Mills, Mike McClure, George Richard, Bob's retired Frito-Lay salesmen, and Geof and Jan Morton.
