Robert Edward Boagni was a loving, caring son and a loyal and kind brother and friend. He was born October 7, 1967, in Baton Rouge, La. He passed away on Saturday, June 15, 2013. Robert attended LSU, Southeastern and Baton Rouge Community College. He was a working partner with independent oil companies and started his own company, Belmont Exploration LLC. He was the son of Dr. Ethel Haas Boagni and the late Dr. Edward M. Boagni III. He is survived by his sisters, Nancy and Mary, and brother Thomas. His childhood friend Paul Taylor was a faithful presence during his long illness. Robert was a member of Our Lady Of Mercy Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus Council 969. Funeral services will be Tuesday, June 18, at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church at 9:30 a.m. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment at Myrtle Grove Cemetery in Opelousas, La. under the direction of Rabenhorst Funeral Home.
